The Outside

"The Outside" is an immersive interactive experience that explores the relationship between people's mental states and the deteriorating external environment. We created a volumetric halo by combining a projected shape and smoke generated by two stage smoke machines. A swing is surrounded by the halo, and the movement of swinging is given a metaphorical implication of breaking free from a dejecting, anxious, or oppressive environment, symbolized by the area within the halo.
